Anyone that is into flower gardening, gets really excited when their plants first begin to produce flowers. I am just as excited for my pea plants to flower. I think they are beautiful. Who says that vegetable plants can’t have ornamental value.

Out of all the peas I am growing this year, by far the one with the most ornamental value are my Golden Sweet Snow peas. Green leaves, yellow tendrils and stems, purple & blue flowers, and bright yellow pods. Look at these pictures below for all the evidence you need.

Beautiful flowers, contrast nicely with the yellow stems.

My daughter likes to say to the newly forming peas "welcome to the world".

The plants are getting pretty tall. Around 4 to 5 feet tall and the plants are still growing.

The flowers on these plants tend to point downwards. Harder to see the actual flowers. The only downside to these plants, yet still pretty to look at. Some of the flowers have a more blue color than purple.

Plenty of flowers means plenty of peas. Just need the patience to wait for these to produce.

Look at the tendrils on this plant. They are actually yellow! How unique and pretty. The yellow color has become more vivid and noticeable as the plants have grown.

I love that I can look out my bathroom and kitchen windows and appreciate these beautiful plants. I had them out in my garden further away from the house last year. They are too beautiful to be hidden away. Now they are front in center and we are really enjoying them.

When I have collected pea flowers from all of my plants I plan to make a collage of the best photos so be watching for that. You can be notified easily when the post goes live by signing up for my email updates in the box below.
