As I sit at the computer with several inches of snow freshly laying on the ground with 50 degree temperatures looming ahead, it’s the perfect time to gear up for the new garden season. I am changing gears when it comes to this blog in 2016. I originally wanted to focus in on peas, but my interests in growing other things was too great to ignore, so it became more of a general gardening site. But this year I want to get back to the main thing. The real goal and purpose behind this blog. It’s all about the peas. My goal is to one day have a farmer’s market stand selling nothing but peas in all shapes, sizes, and colors. I want to be the “pea guy”. After years of being told what to stock or what to sell, I want to have the ability to bring something that I select and grew to people. And this blog – this pea project will be dedicated to my journey as I learn more techniques, varieties, and everything else with peas so that I can one day accomplish my dream. Click here to learn more about the project and why this is a dream of mine.
Expect my content this year to practically be only about growing peas with the addition of some interviews with friends in the gardening community – particularly in the Gardens Across America project launched by Botanical Explorer Joseph Simcox. I think it’s important that I take some time in between pea talk to share what’s going on with this great and exciting program – that’s all about growing out rare seeds from all over the world in gardens all across the country. You can learn more about it by checking out my post on my main blog, Eat Like No One Else.
